  • Overview

    Provides to the Accounting Manager, Plant Management and Departments operating results and variance analysis. Maintains information related to plant productivity and profitability and advises of variances requiring attention.  Responsible for the accurate accounting of raw material and packaging and supplies for plant operations.

    Responsibilities

    • Daily production reconciliation for inventory discrepancies, consumption exceptions and errors.
    • Review daily production reports for accuracy and perform trend analysis.
    • Work closely with Cycle Counter and Warehouse to ensure compliance to plant processes and procedures.
    • Reconcile and report inventory held at third party warehouses.
    • Assists with month-end closing.
    • Assist with internal and external audit requests.
    • Maintains and verifies production models in the system for accuracy and compliance with Internal Audit requirements.
    • Analyze cost and utilization trends.
    • Perform yield analysis on raw material and packaging material to drive efficient material utilization.
    • Ensures plant policies and procedures comply with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements; maintains process controls.
    • Provides leadership in driving lean processes for inventory control and utilization.
    • Annual budgets – working closely with plant management in developing budgets.
    • Provides support and back up for the Accounting department and Plant Accounting Manager.
    • Participate in a wide variety of special projects and compile a variety of special reports as needed.
    • Other duties and tasks as assigned.

    Qualifications

      • 5 years plus of accounting experience.
      • BS/BA degree in accounting or related field.
      • Working knowledge of accounting systems and manufacturing processes.
      • Strong knowledge of SAP and/or PRISM a plus.
      • Be proficient in computer systems and Microsoft Office tools.
      • Must have excellent communications and analytical skills.
      • Flexibility in schedule with availability to work around month end close and yearend close may include weekends and off shift hours.
      • Detail oriented - accuracy is essential.
      • Critical thinking - ability to use logic and reasoning to analyze data.
      • Ability to manage changing needs and priorities of the plants requirements.
      • Disciplined to work independently with minimal oversight.
