    Supervises and directs the production employees and ensures production is running efficiently, safely and meeting production quality standards.

    Essential Duties:

    • Supervises and directs the production team on the shift.
    • Prepares and discusses coaching statements and disciplinary action for all production employees consistently and in a timely fashion.
    • Prepares and administers performance reviews for all production employees following the review schedule and completes them on time.
    • Prepares and conducts weekly shift meetings to communicate training needs, issues, GMP’s, food safety, work rules, safety rules and any other needs that come up for the shift/company with the assistance of the Lead
    • Submit completed production paperwork in a timely manner
    • Ensures production and quality standards are being met with each product and the correct supplies/dates are being used and double checks the quality of the finished products.
    • Throughout the shift, monitor that quality product is produced
    • Prepares shift position charts for daily work assignments based on the production schedule/position layout book each week and when the schedule changes and communicates it to the employees, keeping within the approved staffing numbers.
    • Tracks the progress of production expectation for the shift.
    • Monitors cross training efforts for the shift.
    • Train Lead in all supervisory roles
    • Reports production issues to Production Manager for quick assessment and possible resolution
    • Takes leadership role in trainings
    • Cultivate employee morale in the shift
    • Ensure employees report to work on time and their hours are approved for payroll in a timely manner
    • Teach and promote safe working environment at all times
    • Teach and promote team work
    • Be able to work weekends per production demand


    Other Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Cover shifts in case of vacations, sickness from other shift supervisors
    • Monitors sanitation and shipping employees when their supervisor is not present to ensure they are completing their daily task lists.
    • Receives and logs employee call-offs and notifies and helps the Lead to arrange coverage.
    • Ensures all employees are following work and safety rules and using the proper PPEs and restocks PPEs as needed.
    • Ensure employees follow GMPs
    • Consults with the previous shift supervisor to get updates on production needs and any issues that have come up.
    • Posts the scheduled production and production changes for the day on the white board.
    • Completes and signs off on the production shift report: records change over’s, case amounts, down time and scrap.
    • Tears down, sets up and helps with change overs on the production lines with the entire production team.
    • Checks the production schedule and monitors production to make sure everything is running and troubleshoots any problems with the dough, machinery or other issues with the Production manager.
    • Communicates any changes to the production schedule to the Lead and entire shift.
    • Helps to set-up work stations on the lines for start-up at the beginning of the shift or at change over’s.
    • Troubleshoots machinery and product issues and consults with maintenance, the production manager to resolve.
    • Prints and distributes mixer and scaler sheets for the next shift as needed, sets up the dough schedules for the week and changeovers in the Intellibatch software and makes changes when needed.
    • Completes incident, accident reports, and change of status as needed.
    • Performs walk-throughs for the entire building and grounds for any issues or safety hazards.
    • Other duties as assigned by management.


    • High School Diploma and 2 years of experience with food production.
    • Basic Supervisory and organizational skills
    • Must have strong organizational skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Must have experience using production machinery and monitoring quality.
    • CPR certification desired.
    • MIOSHA/OSHA training and/or experience
    • Experience with Microsoft Office
