  • Overview

    The master scheduler is to review plant capacity, customer demand, corporate inventory goals / objectives and plan production accordingly. As product demand, component availability, and capacity availability changes, the Master Scheduler adjusts the schedules accordingly and communicates updated delivery information to all necessary parties

    Responsibilities

    • Develop global master production schedules to optimize service level, inventory, and resource utilization (to include line efficiencies, conversion costing, and line yields)
    • Collaborate with demand planner and procurement to establish integrated safety stocks and DOH
    • Work with demand planner to validate demand stimulus
    • Coordinate with Engineering, Marketing and Procurement to align new product introduction timelines, master data, and revision requirements
    • Coordinate with Operations team to manage materials and capacity constraints
    • Ensure master schedule and plant schedules are synchronized
    • Coordinate consistent handoff of planning information to production and procurement
    • Monitor performance to the plan and take pro-active action to solve problems and mitigate risk in meeting the plan
    • Analyze data to identify and implement process improvements
    • Prepare and present scenario/modeling for alternate production plans
    • Track, analyze, report and improve pertinent KPIs
    • Coordinate quarter end tactical “can do” plans with Finance and Sales
    • Create and monitor monthly packaging, processing, and manufacturing capacity reports for Sr. Manufacturing Management

    Qualifications

     

    • Bachelor’s degree in Math, Supply Chain, Finance, or other related discipline.
    • Background in master scheduling, forecasting, and planning.
    • Advanced competency in use of PC and Microsoft Windows environment.
    • Proven high-level competency in Microsoft Excel and Data Warehouse – requires professional experience using advanced Excel formulas, graphing and pivot tables.
    • Competent use of Microsoft Office computer applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook.
    • Competency in AS400 and Data Warehouse platforms.
    • Advanced understanding of logistics, transportation, and inventory and warehousing industries.
    • Strong analytical abilities.
    • Effective organization and time management skills
    • Work with confidential information.

    Working Conditions/Environment

    Works in a normal office environment where the employee is regularly required to speak, see, hear, sit, stand, talk, type, walk and bend while moving about the facility. The noise level in the office is quiet. Occasional travel to plants or meetings may be required.
