    Responsibilities

    • Maintains company standards for confidentiality of all sensitive information.
    • Answers telephones professionally and promptly, transfers calls or takes messages for the entire facility and for Quality Bakery as needed.
    • Greets visitors in a courteous and professional manner, directs them accordingly, and provides GMP information and personal protection equipment as required.
    • Performs typing, data entry, filing, and organizing; coordinates all outgoing mail.
    • Compiles, distributes (when required), updates and maintains various employee reports and information.
    • Collects and validates information, compiles records, and submits temporary employee time cards and correspondence.
    • Prepares administrative requisitions and orders office supplies.
    • Assists with and/or conducts new employee orientation and training.
    • Assists with coordinating HR activities through planning and communication with department managers and supervisors.
    • Assists with coordination of corporate benefits programs.
    • Assists with payroll preparation and sorts/distributes pay stubs per the payroll distribution policy for hourly plant employees.
    • Works with the HR Manager to coordinate safety/certification training records and compliance data as required.
    • Assists HR, production, and plant managers as necessary.
    • Assists in maintaining positive employee, corporate and community relations.
    • Generates and maintains confidential electronic and hard-copy employee data, files and records for HR and safety.
    • Ensures compliance to quality, food safety, 5S, OSHA and HACCP support programs; assures conformity to all company, customer and government standards and ensures compliance to all federal, state and local laws and company policies.

    Qualifications

    • Ability to maintain confidential information and situations, accurately file, order supplies and manage correspondence.
    • Pleasant personality and ability to greet, converse with and instruct people in a professional manner.
    • Experience operating multi-line phone system, computers, and record generation and retention systems.
    • 2-3 years HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

    High school diploma or equivalent required.  Degree in an HR or similar field preferred

    Working Conditions/Environment

    Works primarily in an office environment, with 25% or less time in a manufacturing environment, where the employee is regularly required to speak, read, sit, stand, walk, climb, crouch, lift, reach, grasp and bend while moving about the facility.   Requires some lifting of moderately heavy items such as file boxes.  May be required to work overtime and/or weekends as needed.  The employee may periodically be exposed to non-ambient temperatures, odors, dust, oil, slippery floors, moving parts/equipment.  The noise level in the office is moderate and loud in the plant.  Ear protection, eye/face protection, hair/beard nets, steel-toed/slip-resistant shoes, and gloves are required as necessary in accordance with company GMP and safety standards.
