    Responsibilities

        • INSPECTOR

        • Carefully look at the bread as it comes out of oven to ensure it is not; under baked / over baked / miss shaped / extra flour / burn holes.
        • Notify Line Operator, Operations Lead, and Utility immediately of any irregularities of the baked product.
        • Visually inspect product to ensure company’s standards are met – (under baked / over baked / miss shaped / extra flour / burn holes).
        • Separate or spread bread for spacing before it goes to counter stacker to avoid overlap
        • Place non complying product in scrap barrels
        • Communicates all product issues resulting in scrap with line operator/shift leadership to remedy issue and prevent excessive scrap.
        • Notify QC person or Supervisor when bread is consistently below standards (under baked / over baked / miss shaped / extra flour / burn holes).
          • Frequently monitors cooling rack to ensure there is no jam
          • In case of jam, ring the buzzer twice to call maintenance
          • Only white plastic poles are to be used to clear jams
          • When lines goes down, keep work area clean

          SEALER

          • Observe company’s safety requirements all the time
          • Work with inspector at all start-ups and changeovers to help monitor the quality of the bread at the inspection table.
          • Pull product that is not in compliance to the visual quality standards.
          • Ensure that bread is properly aligned in bags before sealing.
          • Line up the bag with the edge of the conveyor belt closest to you.
          • Place your hand on top of the bag and pull the leading edge of the bag to straighten the seam and release bag to be sealed.
          • Turn bag and lay the bagged bread on conveyor belt for certain products that requires flipping of the bag for good seal
          • Align bag to ensure a straight and quality seal of the bag.
          • Check quantity of bread in each bag to ensure the correct piece count
          • Monitor the correct spacing of packages to ensure the packages are coded and sealed properly.
          • Observe bags for correct packaging
          • Assist with re-packaging as necessary when line is down
          • When lines goes down, keep work area clean

           

          PACKER

          • Observe company’s safety requirements all the time
          • Packers are to ensure the right product is in the right bag and the correct count is in each bag.
          • Check seals on all bags before packing.
          • Ensure all packages are coded before packing
          • Fill boxes correctly to proper counts per the product running
          • Use correct box and inserts designated for the product being produced.
          • Put bread in box straight with zippers facing same direction and the bags are all facing the same direction
          • Guide completed boxes through date code and tape machine ensuring proper closure.
          • During changeover to a new box, breakdown all boxes left over to be put in a pallet for shipping.
          • Follow special packing rules for products that require additional inserts on bottom rows, etc
          • Assists with re-packaging or other lines when line goes down

           

          PALLETIZER

           

          • Observe company’s safety requirements all the time
          • Identify the appropriate pallet for the product being run.
            • If production run is to be put in trays, stack trays neatly.

           

          • Check pallets to ensure they are in good condition for loading product on
          • Verify all codes on boxes as complete, accurate, and legible with the line, shift, lot code and product code.
          • Stack boxes on pallet using correct configuration for the product running.
          • Mark box in area that designates the product in box.
          • Notify shift leadership if ink needs changing.
          • Tag full pallets with required documentation and sign off on each pallet on the pallet sheet.
          • Put all pallet ties in trash, NOT on floor.
          • Apply all stickers to boxes if applicable to production run.
          • Stack broken pallets neatly, ask shipping to remove them from production area.
          • Keep packer’s supplies full boxes, tape, inserts, etc.
          • Change tape in box sealer as needed and makes adjustments to the box machine as needed.
          • Assists with re-packaging or other lines when line goes down.
          • When lines goes down, keep work area clean

     

    Qualifications

    • High School Diploma or G.E.D. Equivalent.
    • Good hand/eye coordination, hand dexterity and problem solving skills.
    • Ability to read, write, comprehend and communicate in English.
