    The IT Manager will provide direction and guidance to their business partners to enable the best information technology (IT) solutions that meet the business needs. The position bridges the gap between business partners and technology solution providers. The IT Manager must be proficient in technology environments as well as the business function he/she supports. The role is responsible for partnering with line of business leaders and key stakeholders to align technology products and services to optimize the value IT delivers and to accomplish the business strategy.

    Responsibilities

    Essential Functions/Primary Responsibilities:

     

    This is a position of influence, negotiation and expectation management:

    • Builds and maintains strong relationships with business partners and acts as a liaison between information services teams and the business partner
    • Supports business transformation and drives continuous improvement
    • Provides education to new partners with regard to IT service offerings
    • Defines, prioritizes, and sponsors program and project initiatives
    • Gathers high-level business requirements and defines scope during initial discovery
    • Leads in the development of business cases requiring IT-based solutions
    • Maintains up-to-date awareness of the current and future directions of the industry and associated technologies and works with stakeholders to recommend implementations of new/upgraded systems and technologies
    • Combines knowledge of multiple technology areas with knowledge of the targeted business function
    • Maintains knowledge of multiple business functions and initiatives to identify where conflicts/synergies exist and leads in the effort to maximize the solution
    • Tracks ROI for business initiatives including cost, benefits, and risk
    • Coaches and mentors staff and managers under the direct report
    • Works on highly complex business issues that have significant impact to the enterprise, and across enterprise processes and functions
    • Maintains and controls project budgets, schedules, and resources
    • May be responsible for projects, including project planning, resource allocation, steering committee presentations, and team organizational structure management
    • Manages integration of packaged solution into enterprise technical architecture and business environment
    • Responsible for ensuring the projects can deliver the benefits outlined in the business case and that it meets the reasonable expectations of the end users
    • Responsible for procurement of package related hardware, software and services
    • Perform Sarbanes-Oxley internal control duties in an effective and timely manner, and in accordance with the procedures for performing the internal controls. Take the appropriate actions should performance of assigned internal control activities identify ineffectiveness/non-compliance in addressing the risk the control was intended to address.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, information systems, or related field; or equivalent work experience
    • SAP ERP Implementation a must
    • Experience supporting finance
    • 10 years of IT and business/industry work
    • Two to Five years of leadership responsibility managing mid-size to large projects and influencing senior-level management and stakeholders
    • Certification from recognized authority (e.g. project management professional (PMP) preferred

    • Ability to analyze, understand and effectively communicate between business requirements and technical design and implementation
    • Working knowledge of applications

    • Demonstrated leadership ability; effective in team building
    • Self-motivated and a results-oriented personality
    • Experienced in facilitating and negotiating

    Working Conditions/Environment

    Works in a normal office environment where the employee is regularly required to speak, see, hear, sit, stand, talk, type, walk and bend while moving about the facility. The noise level in the office is quiet. Some travel to plant and company locations is required. Overtime or irregular hours are required to meet extreme workloads and regularly-imposed deadlines.  There are frequent interruptions to handle special requests and emergencies. Individual is on call at times.
