    The Director of Master Data Management (MDM) will develop and implement enterprise-wide data management systems, processes and procedures to ensure data accuracy.  This MDM role will manage resources directly and indirectly across the business and have an active role in supporting roll outs and data migrations of an ERP and integration during acquisitions.  Additionally, the MDM will be responsible for creating a formal master data management department and be actively involved in the hiring of all members of the department.

    Responsibilities

    • Develop and implement a master data management strategy with input from key stakeholders
    • Identify and define business requirements impacting master data strategy
    • Measure progress toward business goals by creating clear MDM program metrics, setting a baseline and linking these metrics to business benefit and data value metrics
    • Drive life cycle data management
    • Lead the Master Data team in:
      • Developing focused data definitions, business rules and standards for master data
      • Managing master data projects and coordinating with stakeholders to ensure milestone dates are met
      • Developing, monitoring and enforcing data management policies, procedures, and standards
      • Ensuring master data quality is maintained through analysis, validation and audit procedures
      • Resolving data quality problems through the appropriate choice of error detection and correction, process control and improvement, or process design strategies collaborating with subject matter experts (SMEs)
    • Lead change initiatives to minimized undesirable impacts to data definition, maintenance, quality and/or consumption
    • Lead data initiatives and analysis, building cross-team relationships.
    • Work with subject matter experts and process owners to improve data quality
    • Serve as lead authority on Data Governance for the Material Master, Vendor and Customer fields in ERP as well as for additional master data in ERP and other systems in the future;

    Qualifications

    • BS/BA in Information Management, Computer/Information Science, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or other related field
    • 10+ years of ERP Master Data experience, experience within a manufacturing environment preferred.  ERP Master Data Experience should include expert level understanding of Material Master, Vendor Master, BOM, Routing, Production, Customer Master, Quality etc.
    • A minimum of 3 years’ experience leading a team required
    • Proven ability to design business processes for managing data throughout the lifecycle
    • Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills that enable effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders and managing multiple stakeholders at multiple facilities
    • Strong understanding of data management best practices in areas such as metadata management, data quality management, root cause analysis, process design and master and reference data management
    • Ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment.
    • Ability to work collaboratively with business stakeholders across geographically distributed sites

    Working Conditions/Environment

    Works in a normal office environment where the employee is regularly required to speak, see, hear, sit, stand, talk, type, walk and bend while moving about the facility. The noise level in the office is quiet. Occasional travel to plants or meetings is required.
