Coordinates, supervises and participates in shift sanitation activities in production by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Inspects products and equipment for conformity to federal and state sanitation laws and plant standards.
Directs food handlers and production personnel in proper cleaning procedures. Must be able to work with and direct a diverse group of employees.
Directs cleaning of equipment and work areas – specifically periodic line cleans and plant master cleaning task list.
Inspects premises for unsanitary practices and conditions.
Confers with management and production personnel on sanitation problems, and recommends changes in equipment, plant layout, lighting, ventilation, or work practices to improve sanitation standards and purity of product.
Confers with supervisors to coordinate cleaning activities.
Compiles required reports regarding regular inspections, sanitation violations, clean times and steps taken to resolve deficiencies. Estimates worker hour requirements for completion of regular line cleans.
Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems regarding line cleans and general plant sanitation.
Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
FOOD SAFETY AND QUALITY RESPONSIBILITIES: Applies the food safety and quality principles as described in the Marzetti Corporate Food Safety and Quality Manual and internal Marzetti Frozen Pasta policies, training and procedures in all applicable aspects of departmental and job functions.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Minimum six months experience in production and an ability to demonstrate a high level of knowledge of GMPs, sanitation and food handling standards in our production plant. Knowledge of and ability to demonstrate safe work practices in our plant.
LANGUAGE SKILLS Excellent oral and written English communication skills.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Must be willing and able to learn skills necessary to accurately input data into computer payroll, attendance, manufacturing and inventory tracking systems
