  • Overview

    Directs, supervises and evaluates the sales efforts of food brokers in an assigned region to achieve assigned sales objectives.  Develops sales plans and strategies with each broker and ensures compliance to all required company policies and procedures.


    • Hire, train and supervise brokers for open positions; meet at least quarterly to work in the market with each assigned broker.
    • Develop sales plans and strategies to ensure each broker meets his/her sales and distribution goals; develop and make sales presentations with the broker to customers; establish sales objectives by market and for the region to include Marzetti Frozen Pasta, New York Frozen, Sister Schubert’s and T. Marzetti.
    • Conduct broker planning sessions to encompass all brands (produce, grocery, frozen, specialty and dairy/deli) during each market visit.
    • Conduct regular business reviews with brokers and customers.
    • Develop market knowledge to include knowing who supplies which groups and what specialty distributors service which customers in the market.
    • Analyze broker’s retail and direct selling activity that affect broker changes as needed.
    • Complete all company-required paperwork in a timely and accurate manner, including Adesso, itineraries, expense reports, market visit reports and follow-up of the market visit report.
    • Introduce new items with a broker meeting and a headquarter call.
    • Plan, execute and evaluate promotions on all brands.
    • Manage and clear customer invoice deductions.
    • Maintain a working knowledge of all competing companies and items by market.


    • Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS) in related field.
    • 4-5 years prior experience in retail food sales marketing with broker sales management experience, preferably in a food-related industry.

    Working Conditions/Environment

    Works in a normal office environment where the employee is regularly required to speak, see, hear, sit, stand, talk, type, walk and bend while moving about the facility.  The noise level in the office is quiet. Extensive travel to each market is required.
