    Position Summary:

    The Strategy Group looks for signals both inside and outside the company that could indicate threats to continued success or opportunities to grow the business and increase market share.  The group makes projections based on current trends and future expectations, and sets the strategic goals for the company. Working with the rest of the management team, the strategy group ensures action and resource requirements are properly aligned to allow for those goals to be met, and then inspires others to achieve them. This team continuously monitors company and market performance to determine if strategies need to be adjusted or new strategies should be introduced.

     

    The Manager Strategy position is a unique opportunity for the right individual to accelerate their career development.  This individual will be given an opportunity to build skills and gain experience across multiple functions including:  Finance and planning, marketing and innovation, category management and sales, business development and M&A, supply chain and capacity planning.  This individual will have an opportunity to work on enterprise wide strategy projects and a portion of their work will be for the senior executive team.   The right candidate will have outstanding strategic skills and well-rounded analytical and general management background/experience.   The ideal candidate will be action oriented, results driven but also have the “soft” skills to collaborate effectively across all functional pillars with multiple teams.   

    Responsibilities

    Essential Functions/Primary Responsibilities:

     

    The Manager Strategy will lead projects in the following areas:

    • Internal Strategic Consulting Support (examples of past projects, this role won’t be involved in all of these)
      • Capital spend/capacity analysis/operations strategy
      • New capability development
      • Business evaluation
      • Cross functional collaboration
      • Integrated business planning
      • International expansion assessment
    • Annual Planning Cycle
      • Collaborate with Marzetti Leadership Team functional leaders and commercial teams to facilitate the annual planning cycle
    • Analytical Support
      • Monthly and ad hoc reporting
      • Macro economic environment monitoring and evaluation
    • Dedicated member of our recent acquisition management team
      • Function like a “strategic advisor” and collaborate with our Founding Teams to drive top and bottom line growth of our recently acquired businesses
      • Drive Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly reporting requirements
      • Provide regular P&L analysis and recommendations for optimization
      • Attend all monthly business board meetings and provide key insights on each business

    Qualifications

    Qualification Requirements:

    • Four-year college degree in business or related field, or equivalent experience required.  Master of Business Administration or relevant graduate degree a plus but not required. 
    • Previous investment banking, management consulting, corporate planning experience a plus
    • Related Experience: CPG, food manufacturing, foodservice sector experience a plus but not required
    • Ability to work in a team setting, drive team results and support change management within the organization
    • Advanced quantitative and analytical skills
    • Strong business acumen and understanding of strategy and operations
    • Sound interpersonal skills and strong verbal, written and presentation skills required

    Working Conditions/Environment

    Working Conditions/Environment:

    Works in a normal office environment where the employee is regularly required to speak, see, hear, sit, stand, talk, type, walk and bend while moving about the facility.  Some travel to plant or vendor locations is required. The noise level in the office is quiet.
