  • Overview

    Monitors the production line from the dough extruder through the bagger to check weights. Ensure the products meet quality standards and reports any product issues to supervisor. Also responsible for assisting other line operators, helping with changeovers, keeping the make-up line area clean. Fills dusting flour sifters and barrels as needed.

    Responsibilities

    • Observe company’s safety requirements all the time
    • During start-up – Prepare makeup line and oven in accordance with the specification for the product to be run.
    • Ensure flour sifters and barrels are full and refill as needed
    • Assemble dough pump as needed
    • Set the correct configuration for makeup line
    • Get oven ready and communicate any issues to supervisor to avoid delays in production
    • Complete bake/weight sheets on an hourly basis.
    • Periodically check weight on all rows to be sure product meets specification standards.
    • Monitor sheeting process for proper width of the dough to maximize the number of rows needed
    • Make minor adjustments to cross rollers, sheeter and oven as needed to ensure quality product is made
    • Once weights are under control, weigh all lines every fifteen (15) minutes.
    • Pay close attention to your line to make sure we are not sending short bread in the scrap barrels
    • During shutdown, disassemble dough pump pipes, open extruder, clean excess dough on the make-up line and clean work area as well and turn gas off the oven
    • Complete all paper work for your line.
    • Stay in your work area all the time.
    • Communicate with the oncoming Line Operator.
    • Discuss issues of the day to help meet production goals.
    • Turn all paper work in to your supervisor at the end of your shift.
    • Other duties as assigned by shift leadership

    • Willingness to be flexible to work weekends as needed in production or sanitation
    • Work safely all the time and report any unsafe conditions to your Supervisor immediately

    Qualifications

    • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
    • Six months of experience working in Flatout production.
    • Ability to read, write, comprehend and communicate in English.
    • Wear appropriate and required Personal Protective Equipment.

    Competencies

    • Consistently must administer good hand eye coordination.
    • Knowledge of the Visual Standards of Quality for all products produced.
    • Dexterity, ability to work with both hands at the same time.
    • Knowledge and understanding of weights and measures.
    • Good mechanical aptitude.
    • Good problem solving skills.
    • Ability to read time.
    • Ability to read a thermometer
