  • Overview

    This position contributes to the production environment of T. Marzetti by performing multiple roles throughout the plant. The job requires the associate to operate a standing forklift, load trucks, and perform other tasks related

    Responsibilities

    • ·         Ensures receipt of raw materials, packaging materials and finished products.
      ·         Replenishes supplies of packaging and raw materials to production areas as needed.
      ·         Unloads inbound materials and inspects containers for damage and documents accurately.
      ·         Stores all bulk warehoused items safely and accurately in designated areas.
      ·         Returns production materials to appropriate warehouse racks after use.
      ·         Wraps and prepares finished product pallets for shipping.
      ·          Rotates raw and packaging materials upon receipt and when returning to storage after use.
      ·          Ensures all raw materials containers are properly labeled, stored appropriately and inventoried in system accurately.
      ·          Identifies products to be shipped, verifies label and codes, loads appropriate amount onto trucks to be shipped.
      ·          Enters information for inventory of products corresponding to amount received and shipped accurately and timely using computer equipment.
      ·         Determines labeling requirements and ensures accuracy.
      ·          Seals trailers for shipment after product loaded and final verification process completed.
      ·          Effectively and thoroughly trains new and current employees on proper procedures and functions of position.
      ·         Fills in for other Warehousers when necessary.
      ·          Regular Attendance is required in accordance with Company attendance policy and procedures.
      ·          Performs other duties/responsibilities as assigned by Management

    Qualifications

    • High School Diploma or G.E.D. required.
    • 1-3 years manufacturing experience, (food manufacturing preferred, but not required.)
    • Knowledge and ability to operate standing forklift preferred.
    • Self-motivated.

    • Maintains high standard of Safety for all functions on ongoing basis and ensures compliance for self and others to OSHA standards.
    • Required to don all PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) including but not limited to slip resistant / steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, gloves, shields and uniforms. Must ensure overall good condition of items that provide optimal personal safety & protection while working in the production area.
    • Responsible for providing a safe working environment including compliance with company, state, local and federal policies and regulations.

    QUALITY

    • Ensures company standards for cleanliness, food and equipment safety and efficient productivity.
    • Ensures production-packaging area to be in compliance with Quality standards.
    • Ensures compliance to quality, food safety and HAACP support programs; assures conformity to all company, customer and government standards.

    • Effectively communicates verbally and written with Team Members, and Management
    • Works respectfully with all team members to ensure the Safety, Quality, production and support of our products and goals on a daily basis.

    Working Conditions/Environment

    • This position operates in a manufcacturing environment. The conditions are often loud and require the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as hair nets, beard nets, earplugs, safety glasses, and steel-toed shoes. Frequent foot-traffic and forklift traffic is present throughout the facility.
