Directs the packaging and warehouse production activities, on a designated shift, in a safe and efficient manner to achieve the desired quality, quantity and timely production of product.  Assures quality and safety, while achieving established goals and objectives.


  • Meets warehouse operational standards by contributing warehouse information to strategic plans and reviews; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; identifying warehouse system improvements.
  • Meets warehouse cycle count standards, identifies variances; implements corrective actions. And drives IRA (Inventory record accuracy).
  • Moves inventory by scheduling materials to be moved to and from warehouse; coordinating inventory transfers with related departments. Oversees LOT Sheet management (FIFO).
  • Ensure supplies and equipment to departments in the correct order.
  • Coordinates and helps maintains storage area by organizing floor space; adhering to storage design principles; recommending improvements.
  • Maintains inventory by conducting physical counts and inputting data.
  • Keeps equipment operating by enforcing operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; requiring preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
  • Ensures finished product is stored into slots correctly by actively CBWA.
  • Communicates any breakdown or any issues to counterparts on counter shifts.
  • Analyze and determine all standards for packaging lines and ensure compliance to all schedule for processes and develop and maintain all packing schedules in order to meet schedule attainment.
  • Monitor and recommend improvements in processes to increase efficiency of packaging department and monitor inventory for warehouse and maintain records of all physical inventory moves.
  • Maintain and ensure compliance to packaging schedule and assign specific tasks to all employees and monitor all packing equipment’s and supplies for over/under production, break downs or improvement opportunities.
  • Coordinate with quality and warehouse departments to monitor everyday activities of units and ensure efficient working of both manufacturing and packaging department and ensure continuous improvement in same.
  • Manage all work according to packing schedule and maintain an inventory of materials and completion of all projects with required timeframe.
  • Develop team environment in department and resolve all packing issues in coordination with quality department.
  • Coordinate with plant manager and evaluate all projects and recommend ways to reduce cost and improve quality of all processes and provide necessary training and counseling to employees as per requirement.
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with all external vendors and contractors and improve efficiency process through incorporation of new technology.
  • Learn PRISM and TMS (Transportation Management System) to help ship on nights when needed.
  • Drive MOE (Marzetti Operational Excellence).
  • Learn IPC (Integrated Planning & Control) to maintain plant run schedules and prepare for SAP.
  • Maintains good employee, community and corporate relations.
  • Coordinates with other department managers and supervisors to ensure proper material handling, maintenance, accounting and inventory control activities and procedures.
  • Maintains company standards for cleanliness, productivity, and maintenance in the production and material handling areas.
  • Ensures compliance to quality, food safety and HAACP support programs; assures conformity to all company, customer and government standards.
  • Performs other duties/responsibilities as assigned.



  • 2-3 years production/group leader experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a food-related industry.
  • Working knowledge of scheduling and production processes.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

Working Conditions/Environment

Works in a manufacturing environment where the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend and occasionally lift while moving about the facility. The employee is regularly exposed to fumes, odors, dust, oil, slippery floors and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the plant is loud. Earplugs, safety glasses, hairnets, beardnets (if facial hair exists) and steel toed / slip-resistant shoes are required in the plant in accordance with company GMP and safety standards.
