Overview

$1000 Welcome Retention Bonus

Coordinates and participates in shift sanitation activities in production

Responsibilities

  • Inspects products and equipment for conformity to federal and state sanitation laws and plant standards.
  • Directs food handlers and production personnel in proper cleaning procedures. Must be able to work with and direct a diverse group of employees.
  • Directs cleaning of equipment and work areas – specifically periodic line cleans and plant master cleaning task list.
  • Inspects premises for unsanitary practices and conditions.
  • Confers with management and production personnel on sanitation problems, and recommends changes in equipment, plant layout, lighting, ventilation, or work practices to improve sanitation standards and purity of product.
  • Confers with supervisors to coordinate cleaning activities.
  • Compiles required reports regarding regular inspections, sanitation violations, clean times and steps taken to resolve deficiencies. Estimates worker hour requirements for completion of regular line cleans.
  • Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
  • Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems regarding line cleans and general plant sanitation.
  • Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. 

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:  Minimum six months experience in production and an ability to demonstrate a high level of knowledge of GMPs, sanitation and food handling standards in our production plant. Knowledge of and ability to demonstrate safe work practices in our plant.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS Excellent oral and written English communication skills.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.  Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

 

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. 

 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and talk or hear.  The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and taste or smell.  The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance.  The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Working Conditions/Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts.  The employee is frequently exposed to extreme heat and occasionally exposed to extreme cold. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; and risk of electrical shock.  The noise level in the work environment can be loud. In certain areas, hearing protection is required.
