Position Summary:

Here at T. Marzetti we are investing heavily in our technology stack with all things Analytics and Business Intelligence at the forefront of this investment.  We’re at the early stages of implementing our new Data & Analytics technology stack and are looking for an experienced individual to join the team and assist in this multi-year journey – a journey that will grow to include predictive modeling, forecasting, and other forms of advanced analytics.

While our primary technology stack utilizes the latest and greatest Microsoft technology and tools, experience with these technologies is preferred but not required for this position!  If you want to have the experience of working with variety of business partners at all levels of seniority to help build a BI system from the ground up that really generates ROI, then this is the job for you!  A chance to learn the latest and greatest techniques that is changing the paradigm for corporate BI and redefining technical BI implementations.


The primary responsibilities for this role are:

  • Building relationships with all Data & Analytics stakeholders to understand Marzetti’s data & analytics needs
  • Designing, implementing, and supporting Data & Analytics models to support Marzetti’s Self-Service practice
  • Develop and maintain sustainment processes and models to carry the implementation forward

Experience Requirements:

The following are must-have requirements for candidates:

  • Excellent Communication Skills
  • CPG or Food Service industry experience
  • Functional Specification writing experience
  • Experience with multiple data modeling frameworks & techniques
  • Experience with one or multiple analytics specific DBMS environments (Synapse, Redshift, Teradata, Vertica, and similar environments)
  • Experience with one or multiple Business Intelligence Tools (Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, and similar tools)

We are aligning on the Microsoft stack for analytics and are implementing the following components:

  • Azure Data Lake Gen 2
  • Data Factory
  • Synapse (on demand)
  • Power BI (Premium)


Qualification Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited 4-year university
  • 3+ years’ experience in business process and requirements documentation, analysis, design, system construction, testing, training, communication planning and deployment
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, the ability to develop and maintain business/technical documentation, and have strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Must have experience facilitating Requirements Discovery sessions with end users
  • Experience in writing and executing test cases is desirable
  • Experience with MSOffice Suite of products, SharePoint, and Visio is highly desirable
  • Strong analytical, Risk analysis and Problem-solving skills
  • Working knowledge of organizational change management concepts preferred
  • Experience with Agile methodologies (Kanban and Scrum) and ceremonies preferred

Working Conditions/Environment

Typically, works in a normal office environment where the employee is regularly required to speak, see, hear, sit, stand, talk, type, walk and bend while moving about the facility.  The noise level in the office is quiet. Travel may be required ~20% or less. At times, remote work may also be required.
