Overview

Oversees purchasing and procurement functions at the Quality Bakery location, while partnering with Allen Division Purchasing team. This position is crucial for driving continuous improvement within the plant from a purchasing and procurement perspective. This position is responsible for coordinating purchasing efforts across all departments, to develop, monitor and group KPI’s to drive performance and accountability.

 

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain T. Marzetti best practices for procurement, scheduling, and inventory control.
  • Collaborate with various departments to manage efficient flow of all materials and ensure accountabilities for all materials.
  • Flexibility to move swiftly in relation to supply chain problems and opportunities.
  • Plan for and communicate anticipated changes in inventory levels due to customer changes, seasonal fluctuations, and/or product transfers.
  • Pro-actively manage actions and projects to minimize all Supply Chain costs and prepare regular updates.
  • Maintain all information for status of materials on weekly basis.
  • Ensure that detailed operating plans and schedules conform to releases to ensure 100% on-time delivery.
  • Minimize part obsolescence, provide required documentation for same.
  • Control all inventories within budget level and coordinate actions to continuously minimize levels.
  • Enter purchase orders for raw materials, packaging, and production supplies into Prism and eventually SAP post-implementation
  • Coordinates freight pickups and expedites COAs as needed from vendors.
  • Ensures compliance to all federal, state, and local laws and company policies.
  • Coordinates with other departments to ensure proper purchasing, scheduling, processing, packaging, accounting and inventory control activities and procedures.
  • Ensures compliance to quality, food safety, 5S, OSHA and HACCP support programs; assures conformity to all company, customer, and government standards.

Qualifications

  • BS/BA in Business Administration or related field preferred.
  • 5-7 Years of Purchasing/Scheduling related experience, preferably within the food industry.
  • Experience with ERP systems, SAP preferred.

Working Conditions/Environment

Works primarily in an office environment. Associate may be required to work overtime and/or weekends as needed. The associate may periodically be exposed to non-ambient temperatures, odors, dust, oil, slippery floors, moving parts/equipment. The noise level in the office is moderate and loud in the plant. Ear protection, eye/face protection, hair/beard nets, steel-toed/slip-resistant shoes, and gloves are required as necessary in accordance with company GMP and safety standards when in the manufacturing environment.
